Salty Tears

January 23, 2013

This one took a bit longer than expected, but I am happy with how it turned out. As for the announcements I mentioned last week.. they are definitely positive ones! The first one has something to do with shirts and I’ll be dropping that news on Monday!

  1. Tiara says:

We stumbed over here from a different page and thoiught I may as well check things out.
I like what I see so now i’m following you. Look forward to going over your web page again.

  2. Sam says:

At first I was like, what’s going on? Then I read the comments and haha! ‘Sugar daddy’, oh boy, that’s good stuff 😀

  3. aaronsgh says:

This is brilliant. I love the little details. Also, I’m surprised no one’s mentioned racial undertones…

  4. Hi!

I just wanted to mention that I love your work. I hope to see more of them.

  5. Apkalus says:

Man, this is so funny, I’m a fan of your work, do you have any plans to create a book with all this?

    1. Gregor says:

I have a ‘Volume 0’ out (not available online yet), but it’s more of a favourites collection. I have plans for a proper book that has extra content not seen before (like behind the scenes stuff, etc), but it’s still a ways away. Thanks for the comment!

  6. Punny girl says:

Gives new meaning to the term “sugar daddy”!
Thank you, I’ll be here all week!

    1. Gaminguitarist says:

I actually laughed my ass off at that lol.

      1. Beelie says:

More like Sugar “deady”. Ahaaaaaaa ha ha ha haaaaa. A thank u

  7. Paige the Human says:

After reading all thise comics now i can’t tell if the sugar is the kid or the cheating with father

  8. Rune says:

Say what you will about those who didn’t get it, but in my defense I thought the sugar in the last panel was the kid years later when the father finally snapped. I know how sugar looks.

  9. Perry Hua says:

That is one doomed child. Sweet AND salty?! I already don’t like it.

    1. Black-Mech says:

Don’t knock it ’till you’ve tried it. Sweet AND Salty popcorn is delicious!

  10. Lucie says:

OH THAT’S AWFUL! really good graphics but ahh so sad! crying salty tears now… what a bittersweet story (AH PUN)

  11. m says:

    P. S. I love you. 😉
Sugar, ah, honey honey, you are my candy girl.

  12. 3rdy says:

i feal sorry for pepper 🙁 cheating bitch slut salt >:(

  13. Jayne says:

Is the hot sauce doctor sweating? xD

  14. Pteprocks says:

    This is THE BEST.

  15. Omega Lairon says:

Not that I can relate to being a condiment, but I’ll never understand how cheating / sleeping around is so prevalent. It’s not brain surgery people, you are IN a relationship, that means you’re committed to a single person. If it’s not working out, have the balls to end it instead of cheating. Plus, it’s especially insulting to us “still extremely painfully single”s who can’t get one woman/man, and you’re going around hogging them all up? Quit being a greedy dick!

*Ahem* Great comic man, worth the small delay. I’ll be honest though, I’ve seen versions of the joke before, but you’ve done a great job with it and given it a uniquely “Loading Artist” spin. Looking forward to the coming news… just got to figure out how to break the news to my poor suffering wallet.

    1. Bob says:

I have that pokemon card, and I agree with what you’ve said above.

      1. Raleigh Brecht says:

Speaking of what he said, my girlfriend, hayley alexis mcdaniels who is a fan of pokemon whould love one, the old version that is!

  16. ChrisM says:

Epic comic Gregor, you trully have one twisted mind. But thankfully most of us do as well.

  17. Tuck says:

Another great strip. though this one took me longer to understand. I thought Salt was the husband and was dying. Then I realized it was a pregnancy thing.

  18. Rémi O. says:

Haha, the Tabasco as the “hot” nurse

  19. Capn Crunch says:

Wow. I can’t believe how many people didn’t get the joke. Have you never seen sugar cubes?

  20. Rob says:

I seriously had a problem understanding what was going on here because I thought Salt would obviously be a male figure and Pepper a female. Isn’t it strange how the subconscious works?

    1. Aejan says:

      I would blame Blue’s Clues.

      1. aaronsgh says:

        Too real.

  21. Will says:

    haha great!

  22. David says:

Remember kids: Practice safe eating; use a condiment.

  23. Bill Murphy says:

I really like your use of color and shading in the last panel. It was a great way to get the sense that emergency lights are right there without adding the actual vehicle.

  24. Warlord_Pipsqueak says:

She should have used a Condiment…

  25. Akrom says:

    Cel. Mustard?

  26. Optional says:

Reminded me of this one: http://pbfcomics.com/90/

  27. catchme21 says:

Ketchup and Mustard as police….freakin’ brilliant! Attention to detail is definitely what makes your comics so awesome! Can’t wait to hear the t-shirt news.

  28. Armin says:

So what was their child supposed to be?

    1. ChrisM says:

      A sugar cube.

    2. sgotsch says:

      Salt and Pepper.

  29. ShinyLatios says:

    GENIUS 😀

  30. Grumzz says:

The headlines the next day: ‘Sugar killed, body showing signs of assault. Pepper main suspect’

    (assault, get it..? ;))

  31. mekah menke says:

Can’t wait til the next comic, funny stuff 🙂

  32. Andrew says:

I don’t think the handcuffs are going to work on Mr. Pepper.

  33. wonderfulfeeling says:

For those that don’t understand, my view:
The woman salt is married to the man pepper, and the other ones at the start are doctors helping the salt to give birth, and then the pepper finds out it’s actually a sugar baby, and so he kills the sugar.

    1. mekah menke says:

exactly! Mrs Salt cheated on Mr Peper! hahahah!

  34. cyreks says:

    hahahaha, nice one Gregor 😀

  35. TheLump says:

For those who didn’t understand: Salt and Pepper had a baby. The baby was neither salt, nor pepper, nor a blend of the two. The baby was sugar instead. Enraged, pepper finds and kills papa sugar (sugar-daddy).
It’s surreal, but understandable. Of course, now that it’s explained, it may not be as amusing.

  36. Keradon says:

    Well i think i got it !

Mr Pepper and Mrs had a baby, but it’s a sugar so Mr Pepper discovered that his wife cheated on him and he killed her loverman, a.k.a Mr Sugar.
Weird comic, but nice job 😀

    1. A. Nony Mous says:

Took me a while to figure this out.

  37. Talli says:

    this was surprisingly funny ^_^

  38. Klepto-Man says:

    How very Perry-Bible-Fellowship of you!
    I like it!

  39. guillaume & chris says:

    I don’t get it.

    1. Jess says:

She delivered a sugar cube instead of something salty, which means she cheated on him.

      1. m says:

        Or peppery.
…For a minute I wondered if you were Jes, but then I realized you have two esses.

        1. Lucie says:

          esses 🙂

  40. Fernando says:

Here. Have ALL my “wut”. After this comic, you deserve it!
