Hugs For Nothing

August 13, 2012

Just wanted to say thank you everyone who posted or sent me nice reassuring messages, I’m feeling a lot better this week. Better get to bed now and get as much sleep as I can because my second gym session ever is in five hours (yeah, gym all of a sudden, how cliché).

Also I want to give a quick shout out to one of my first webcomic buddies Justin Boyd. He makes Invisible Bread and also co-created Left-Handed Toons. I feel this week’s comic has a kind of Invisible Bread vibe to it, so check it out if you like this one.

I wanna do this in real life as a prank to people!!

    Bwhahahahaha! Best. Pick-up line. Ever.

The thing that makes this comic stand out from all the rest, for one, is how much time you put into each panel. Also, you kind of have a Monty Python type of wit to your comedy, where it actually points out some truth in real life.
Also! I have a friend who does comics (in a very unique way), perhaps you could give them a look at. (Forgettablecomics.com).
I just discovered this comic today and it’s my favorite one. I’ve seen them around, but never noticed it was all from the same person.

  4. Fairox says:

I love your comics soo much, the best comics on earth, honestly!
I wanted to have my own comic-series, so i tired creating one, so this is the result: http://fav.me/d5afda2 Please give me a little feedback 🙂

    1. Gregor says:

Thanks! And hehe, pretty good, though I had to think twice about who the person was in the last panel. Also since you’re wanting feedback, I guess I’d also wonder why he’s looking at the conversation as if that’s the main distressing part, wouldn’t it be the person saying “Hi” next to him? Also an empty stall next to him seems like a relief if anything, if there was another person in it it would add to the distress.

But that’s just like my opinion, man.

You should go to an Anime-Con. Free hugs-a-plenty. Of course it’s mostly from underage kids, so that might be borderline illegal. Probably best to not go at all actually. Stay at home. Safer that way.

  6. Gar Molloy says:

How much for a hug without the coupon?

  7. danineteen says:

Haha, why did you put an expiry date! 😛

  8. Allan says:

Haha, please make more they are all very funny 😉

  9. Omega Lairon says:

I considered doing something like this, but with just my name, phone number and the word “SINGLE” in what little room was left; then leave a bunch of them around nail salons or fashion stores. Course, knowing my luck, I’d get thousands of prank calls and maybe the unwanted advances from males.

Then that crappy “Call me maybe” song happened… if it was a risky move before, it’s just beyond unthinkable now.

Oh right, the comic. Looks like Blue’s fortunes have reversed dramatically since “Supply Sans Demand”. It’s a good thing. The usual praise applies (fantastic art, well written), and on a more personal note, it’s good to see you’re back in good spirits and ready to move on. Too many otherwise good comics have gone to hell because the authors just couldn’t get over their personal dramas, which leaked into comic world far too often. You’re an inspiration.

  15. Jyu says:

This is the kind of thing that i could have done… x)
Anyway, good to know that you feel a little better dood.

  16. spudart says:

Yeah, such a predicament. He initially had to make it expire soon, otherwise people wouldn’t want to redeem it right away.

  17. Button up your shirt!

Your comics are great, mind if I put a link to your site on my own webcomic page?

    1. Gregor says:

Happy Birthday! And yeah sure, go for it.

  21. Stefan says:

I like how you can’t really see if she wants the hug or not, or if it’s really the expiration date on the coupon. Boggles my head!

  22. Liav Lewitt says:

I like this one. It has a nice feel to it. Sort of…slow, but still humorous. Great work.
