Gift Giving

December 19, 2014

This is the last comic for 2014! I will be back to posting comics in the new year, but before that I’ll be posting a new blog post, and I will also be tweeting and maybe even do some instagramming.

The hell we put each other through. Does this still happen only because of sheer momentum?

  2. Nicholas Steel says:

For the longest of times I thought you were taking super long to release a new comic, I only recently learned that I accidentally bookmarked a specific comic instead of a page that always shows the latest ^_>”

For reference I accidentally bookmarked https://www.loadingartist.com/comic/launched/

    1. Gregor says:

      A Christmas miracle!

  3. X3 says:

Lol love these comics and sad but true with that last panel you go dude X3

  4. Dragon says:

Pink is, of course, smart enough to get her present wrapped at the store 🙂

Another excellent (and funny!) comic, Gregor!

  5. Panos says:

Hey Loading Artist.. I showed this comic to my girlfriend the other day as i was wrapping her presents cause i found it really funny.. But as it turns out it sparked an argument.. I thought that at the last panel the couple says “Ugh” with love and happiness cause their loved one got them a present.. that’s why i thought it was funny (the twist of the negative “ugh” in the end).. My gf on the other hand thought that they continue the negative “Ugh” from the previous panels and that they are fake laughing for receiving a gift they didnt like.. please tell me who is right..

    1. Gregor says:

Haha, well it’s open to everyone’s personal interpretation, but your girlfriend is correct.

  6. el boogerino says:

I imagine an alternate universe, where they are both happy to find gifts for each other. Instead of “ugh” they say “ahh” as they each find the perfect thing, beam with joy as they pay whatever it’s worth, and find real satisfaction in dutifully wrapping each gift neatly for the other person.

Last panel would be the same though.

    1. Neospector says:

Sweet mother o’ Spain, am I the only one who finds it creepy that you can just replace every “ugh” in this comic with “ahh” and get a happy ending?!

  7. Omega Lairon says:

    Yup, looks about right…

Fortunately, we’ve just stopped giving much of a crap about Christmas altogether in my family – no presents, no tree, no nothing. It is glorious. As for friends, I usually tell them that my gift to them is “the freedom from the societal guilt/pressure of needing to buy me anything”. If they insist, I usually point ’em at my favourite charity’s “donate now” webpage.

But enough about that – the comic is excellent, a fitting end to a year of quality jokes and art. I especially liked how the characters and their respective gifts are pretty much the only sources of colour amidst a sea of grey and bland. Appropriate.

Well, it’s been an interesting year, full of quality jokes and art. Here’s to the next one, and hopefully bigger and better things in store for the future of Loading Artist.

    1. Gregor says:

Thank you, Omega, for all of your support over the year(s)! I always look forward to reading your comments.

  8. Johnny says:

    Ugh… damn consumerism…

  9. ShinyLatios says:

well.. ugh… it’s the thought that counts!.. heheh… ugh

  10. William says:

    Well that’s sad, and true…

  11. Sami says:

I just love how the girl bought a lot of stuffs for herself in addition to the gift for Blue 😀

    1. Axel says:

      Oh it’s true I didn’t notice the first time… that’s a nice little detail.

  12. Kyle says:

Well aren’t they just the cutest couple
