Hey, after next week’s comic I’m going to travel around America for 50 days. So, uh.. yeah. I’ll post a blog update this weekend with more details.

nice
Live and learn. You’ll be set next time.
The other racer’s face in the background of the last panel is just icing on the cake. One of my favorite pieces of yours!
Still makes me laugh every time โ possibly my favourite comic so far! ๐
Wow, the new look is splendid! Seems like a lot has changed since Stars in Your Eyes (the last comic I read here). Keep up the good work, mate! ๐
It’s a hilarious joke, but it’s also pretty meaningful if you look at it the right way (or the wrong way, depending on who you ask). You think you’ve got life all figured out, you’re ready to take on the world, and then suddenly it hits you that you’ve no idea what you’re doing.
why no new comics?
Hi Christichi,
I’m currently in the middle of traveling around America for 50 days (I’ve written more details in the latest blog post).
Iโm still on twitter, and Iโll be posting on the Facebook page when I am back with a new comic!
woaaaah new site and comics <3 So glad I came back to check on you!
omg good luck for the tavelling, Loading.
any explanation for the a poor non-english guy?
The beginning of races is usually marked by the statement: “Get ready, get set, Go!”. A common American saying is “I was born ready.”
I really don’t understand the joke in the last frame. Does “I was born set” mean something in english? What’s the joke in there? Thank you ๐
No one says “I was born set”. The joke is that he is thrown off about needing to be set.
Thanks for explaining. ๐
I also thought the joke was about a wordplay with “being set” an some other meaning (which I don’t know ๐ ) of the word “set”. ^^
Have a wonderful time on your holiday! And a nice long one, too – this country’s far too vast to see everything, no matter how long you spend, but at least you can pick up more of the highlights.
1. This was very funny.
2. Holding the gun that way around would be very uncomfortable.
My favorite LA comic of all time. Very well done, sir.
Oh man, he’s in for a rough time in a moment or so… “Nobody said anything about GO!!”, etc. Nicely done.
And have a fun vacation! Bring lots of books and some good noise cancelling headphones… not that you’re likely to get any sleep in those tiny chairs, but it’s worth a shot.
Can I PLEAAAAASE use Pier’s on click gif as my avatar (on other sites) ? I absolutely love it!
America?
South america? North america? Central america?
Are you coming to all the continent?
If you come to my country I’ll be glad to meet you.
Hmmm… The guy responsible for the Hula-hoop-a-thon and the Easter egg hunt again… That mystery man seems to hold the keys to a lot of crucial events…
omg come to brooklyn
